Of Twilight, True Blood, and iPhones [07 Jul 2009|09:58pm] bluebear_74 [ mood | sleepy ] OMG ACA you fail, they had a super lame story today about Twilight fans being ripped off and how a group of kids lined up for hours for an appearance to only get to the front of the line to learn that you had to pay $30 per autograph (not even personalised), made extra funny because Kellan and Eddie came down here so long ago, and their only now airing about it. Also, this made me LOL, can you imaging RPattz in True Blood? Does this mean True Blood was his first choice? I wonder what role he was going for. Is it true that you did castings for vampire characters before? Yes, I did an audition for True Blood, but that didn't work out. I didn't think I would get the role of Edward Cullen either, because the character is very enigmatic. I didn't want to play the biggest vampire stereotype, so I tried to humanize him. I was debating whether I should sync my iPhone (when/if I get it) to my MacBook Pro or my PC, but I think I'll go with PC because I like having my play counts and applications already one there. I think I'm only going to use my MacBook Pro, which I think I need to name but I can't think of anything, for just listening when I'm away from the PC. 23 loves| bittersweet

Of New Toys, and Issues [06 Jul 2009|05:05pm] bluebear_74 [ mood | frustrated ] I'm not liking not being able to get some of my favourite programs on the Mac. I miss Semagic for posting on LJ, using iJournal right now and it just isn't cutting it. I loved being able to hightlight something and being able to bold it by just clicking B (as well as a billion other formatting options), no spell check (we all know I need that), also doesn't seem to be able to retrieve my tags, I don't like have to type them in myself. I'll have to look around and see what else there is out there, if anyone has any recs let me know (that doesn't require me using Wine to run Semagic on my Mac). I need figure the network stuff out (sometimes it sees my PC, sometimes it doesn't), I want to pull some music off it and put it on iTunes. Right now, I'm watching Top Gear (on my beloved shiny TV which I got a few months ago), and writing this on my other beloved MacBook Pro (durrrrr). This time today I'll usually be watching True Blood, one more week!! ETA: What no offline messages on MSN for Mac?! I also got my Harry Potter tickets, I'm going on the Friday (17th) VMax showing, Wednesday (the day it comes out here) VMax showing has no good seats left. 39 loves| bittersweet

Of PC Traitors, and Macs [05 Jul 2009|11:58pm] bluebear_74 [ mood | excited ] Dear PC Guy and Bill Gates I really still love you but today I brought this, and so far I love it. I want to lick it and do dirty things to it. I'm sorry. Love, bluebear_74 So I went and did it, and I ended even getting the one with higher specs because the graphics card had it's own memory rather than shared it, which meant I spent more than I had planned... again. I ended up getting it at JBHFi because you're able to haggle with them (whereas Apple you can't because their not allowed). They matched the student price, and also took of an extra $40, and took some off the AppleCare also (which I wasn't going to get but I was freaked out something would go wrong and I wouldn't be able to fix it). The WiFi annoyingly won't work, I think it must be our router or the settings, but my brother is going to try and fix it for me, and if he can't we'll take it to Apple, and see if they can help. I've noticed programs are larger to download (VLC and FireFox are both 7MB on PC, but were much larger for OS X). Oh and I'm in love with the screen, so pretty and shiny!! I'm sad I won't get to play with my new toy at work tomorrow because I don't have all the software I need on it yet :(. Oh and the track pad is so much easier than the one on my brother's laptop, I like that you press down to click (my brothers was a tap which meant you couldn't click and drag), 2 fingers to scroll, and 2 fingers to right click. I had more stuff to post about but I've forgotten, it's late and I have a heap of stuff to do, and a have a bit of a head ache. 34 loves| bittersweet

Of Apple, Macs, and iPhones [02 Jul 2009|08:54pm] bluebear_74 [ mood | contemplative ] [ music | Hamish & Andy - Hamish & Andy - Best Of Monday 29th June ] I am very seriously considering getting a 15" Mac Book Pro (I think 13" might be to small for me since I mainly use it for graphics), but I'm worried I'll hate it and regret spending $2700 on it. I worry that: I'll only use it for work, and never at home, meaning I'll be spending all this money, and it won't really be for me. I'll hate the OS, I've had issues with not liking the OS at Uni, I'm hoping it was only because I didn't use it enough (maybe once or twice a week) to get use to it. Compatibility with software. I worry that software I use in Vista won't work in OS X, or that I'll have to download 2 versions of everything (annoying when Adobe CS4 is 8GB). Has anyone on my flist had the same issues, or have opinions? Oh and can someone tell me if there's a right click? I hated so much there wasn't one. I kind of want to go to Chadstone this weekend. Also YAY 3 Mobile finally put a date up on when they would be getting the iPhone 3GS, July 17th. I just hope the plans won't be to expensive. I feel like such a PC traitor right now. ETA: Channel 10 are playing a Merlin special on Sunday, and their saying it's a Australia exclusive, but I think it might be stuff from the DVD, but I haven't seen the features so I have no idea.
